Michelle is a board-certified Physician Assistant and a recipient of NCCPA’s Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rush University. Michelle worked as a high school teacher prior to becoming a PA in 2017. Over the past 7 years, she has developed extensive psychiatric skills by working in multiple treatment settings including outpatient treatment, residential treatment, as well as the emergency room and inpatient units. She specializes in the treatment of patients suffering from mood and anxiety disorders. As a PA, she has also continued her interest in teaching by supervising other PA students from Rush University, North Central College, and Midwestern University. She has also had the opportunity to give educational lectures on several topics including Psychiatry in the Emergency Department, Psychosis, and Intoxication and Withdrawal Syndromes. Michelle also enjoys volunteer work and has participated in a number of activities that are medically related, including staffing a medical mobile van, working with Chicago Recovery Alliance to provide harm reduction supplies and medical services to the community, serving as a medical volunteer for the Chicago Rock-and-Roll Half Marathon, and providing interactive lectures at a high school.
