Dr. David Lott
Dr. Lott is a board-certified and licensed physician who has been treating patients with addiction and other conditions for many years. As a specialist in psychiatry and addictions, he focuses on helping patients learn about their conditions and find the most effective treatments. In addition to patient care, Dr. Lott is committed to community education as well as teaching and research. After college he worked for 2 years as a classroom teacher for middle and elementary school age children in Chicago. He then resumed his own education at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine before returning to Chicago for residency and fellowship training. Dr. Lott previously served as the Medical Director of Addiction Services at Linden Oaks Hospital at Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare in Naperville, IL from 2005-2017. At Linden Oaks, he led a variety of other programs as well, including the Detox Unit, Residential Treatment Center at Northwest Community Hospital, the General Mental Health Outpatient Program at Mill Street, and the Linden Oaks Hospital Medical Staff. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Illinois College of Medicine (Chicago campus) and is a Past President of the Illinois Society of Addiction Medicine. He has also conducted several research studies on opioid addiction and other topics. He has published in scientific journals as well as other periodicals and blog posts, and he regularly presents workshops and lectures at professional meetings, including official training seminars for buprenorphine (Suboxone®).
