Dr. David Lott

Background
Dr. Lott is a board-certified and licensed physician who has treated patients with addiction and other psychiatric conditions for many years. He focuses on helping patients understand their conditions and consider effective treatment options.
Before medical school, he worked for two years as a classroom teacher for middle- and elementary-school students in Chicago. He later attended the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and returned to Chicago for residency and fellowship training.
Leadership, teaching, and research
Dr. Lott served as Medical Director of Addiction Services at Linden Oaks Hospital at Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare in Naperville from 2005 to 2017. He also led the Detox Unit, Residential Treatment Center at Northwest Community Hospital, General Mental Health Outpatient Program at Mill Street, and the Linden Oaks Hospital Medical Staff.
He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine’s Chicago campus and a past president of the Illinois Society of Addiction Medicine. He has conducted research on opioid addiction and other topics, published in scientific and general-interest outlets, and presented workshops and lectures at professional meetings.
