Robert Hung, MD, MPH
A board-certified psychiatrist who considers the relationship between mental, physical, and social well-being.
Education and training
Dr. Hung is a board-certified psychiatrist. An honors graduate of Stanford University, he completed MD and MPH degrees at Oregon Health Sciences University in 2003 and combined residencies in psychiatry and internal medicine at Rush University Medical Center in 2008.
After completing a pulmonary fellowship in 2010, he served as medical director of the pulmonary rehabilitation program at Sanford Health from 2010 to 2015.
Clinical leadership and approach
Dr. Hung served as medical director of the behavioral medicine unit at Edward Hospital–Endeavor Health from 2015 to 2024.
Dr. Hung follows a biopsychosocial approach to care, considering how physical health, social experiences, and a person’s environment affect mental well-being. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Association of Medicine and Psychiatry.
