Ketamine and esketamine (Spravato)

Overview
At Lott Behavioral Health, we offer ketamine through an intravenous (IV) infusion and esketamine as a nasal spray called Spravato. Both treatments take place in the office with clinical monitoring.
These treatments work differently from many common antidepressants. Your care begins with a psychiatric evaluation to review your symptoms, previous treatments, and whether either option may be appropriate.
Compare ketamine and SpravatoTreatment-resistant depression
Depression is described as treatment-resistant when symptoms have not improved with antidepressant treatment. You may still experience low mood, loss of interest or motivation, changes in sleep or appetite, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, social isolation, or feelings of hopelessness.
What treatment involves
Ketamine
Ketamine is given through a 40-minute IV infusion, followed by monitored recovery. A full visit typically lasts about 90 minutes.
Esketamine (Spravato)
You use Spravato nasal spray under a healthcare provider’s supervision in a certified treatment setting. Each dose is followed by at least two hours of monitoring before your clinician decides whether you are ready to leave.
